Hello My Friends of Uttarpara,
In one Bengali essay by Late Nirod C Chowdhary( published in one Sharadia Desh of late 80's / early 90's)has references of culturural heritage of Uttarapara and its Zamindar-Bari. He was then either employed or an intern of Zamindar-Bari. He specifically talked about a few oil panintings he had seen either at Zamindar-Bari or in JK Public library. The era was approximately 1930's a few years before the anglophile was employed by the Statesman, Calcutta. Will any Uttarpara-lover please locate those paintings, and do some research about theose panitings as well as the relationship Nirod Chowdhary had with Uttarpara? I missed this point while meeting this great Bengali soul at Oxford, England during October 1997. Please include your research results after peer review and/or proper authentication inside Uttarpara.com .
